Forever with Binay

It seems like Vice President Jejomar Binay wants to prove that forever exists.
VP Binay said on his recent interview in Bacolod City that:

"Itong term na ito ’di talaga ako naniniwala d’yan. Kailangan one to sawa ’yan, hangga’t gusto ng tao. Kaya kung meron amendments sa Constitution, ipapaalis ko yung term limitation. Hangga’t maaari, iboto nang iboto."

Which only means that he wants to allow local government officials to be elected infinitely as long as the citizens want their local officials to serve longer.

The current 1987 constitution states that the President and the Vice President of the Republic cannot be elected twice after being elected in one of the aforementioned positions. However, local government officials can be elected thrice as long as the citizens permit it to happen.

The Administration immediately reacted to this statement by saying that term limits are meant to stop government officials from abusing their offices. Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo said that lifting the term limits will forbid other Filipinos who can serve the country.

He said, "Hindi naman pwede sa lahat ng bagay, forevermore".
